Christine Keeler, the model and dancer whose contacts with a British minister and a Soviet negotiator at the tallness of the Cold War stunned Britain and entangled the legislature in a famous political sex embarrassment, has passed away aged 75.

Keeler’s association with wedded Minister of War John Profumo, whom she met, aged 19, while swimming stripped at the amazing Buckinghamshire estate of his partner William Astor, stunned socially conservative Britain in the early 1960s.

Front-page disclosures that she was likewise taking part in an extramarital entanglements with a Soviet maritime attache, Yevgeny Ivanov, titillated public and shone a light on the social and sexual mores of Britain’s shrouded ruling establishment.

Profumo was forced to resign after lying to parliament about their relationship, Reuters reports.
